PMA and Success Blogs..... do the Authors Really use this stuff ?

For a while now I've been wondering if all of these authors of PMA (Postive Mental Attitude) and "How to Achieve Success" blogs are either:

a) successful themselves

or

b) practice the techniques they write about

Now,  because this is a small world,  I'm not going to "out" anyone's blog in particular.  Plus,  these are folks that seem to be positive and trying to spread their thought process for the betterment of individuals and it seems in bad taste to go after them.

While I don't question their message,  I do question whether they themselves have benefited monetarily from adhering to this advice or practicing these methods.   The reason I question it, is because so much of it seems recycled or "slightly modified" to make it sound like their own.  I've seen so many lessons and/or pieces of advice that sound exactly like Zig Ziglar, Jeffery A. Fox or Steven Covey.   Now who's to say these "founders"  of sales and attitude advice books,  didn't recycle some of their material....  but I do give them more credibility than Joe Smith who is peddling his "Secrets of Sales Success"  on the blog circuit.

Does it matter ? Does it negatively impact me ?  No.  But with so many of these blogs or websites and twitter pages dedicated to this advice ....  it definitely makes you wonder .... Can all of these people disseminating this "PMA and "How-To be Successful"  advice truly be that successful themselves ?

Is the Gold Rush Over ?

Looks like the iPhone app gold rush is over....  after writing in my blog about unbelievable success with creating iPhone apps where developers were making over $500k in as little as 6 months,  it looks like the market has matured and therefore has normalized.

This article from TechCrunch,  one of my favorite resource sites has all the details....

Netbook Review

hey there.....

I was inspired by my friend Jay Siegel,  who is a freelance writer for examiner.com to write a
"regular guy's" review for Netbooks.

So my MacBook pro is in for repair (screen's gone bad)  and my job requires me to have a laptop to show our service.  Rather than spend unnecessary money on another MacBook pro while I wait for the other one to be repaired (although I would like a new MacBook Air)   I decided to turn my eye back to windows machines and specifically "netbooks".

So after researching Acer, Asus, HP and MSI on the web,  I went to my local Fry's to see their selection.  They had Acer and HP on the low-end ($299-$349)  and Sony Vaio on the high-end ($899-$1199)  I ended up going w/ the Acer 8.9 Aspire One (white in color).    It was a great machine,  good memory, nice size HD @ 160GB etc.  But the thing was SOOOOO small,  both the keyboard and monitor we're tough to look at and work with.   After 3 days of using it,  I was looking more seriously @ the MacBook Nano which is an MSI Windbook w/ Mac OS 10.5.6 (leopard)  loaded on it.  It's a bootleg machine but works very well according to MSI.

Finally,  I returned my Acer 8.9 Aspire One to Fry's and chose the 10.1  version.   Although I preferred the HP Mini Note's keyboard layout,  I couldn't get pass the fact that it only had an 80GB Solid State drive.   Also,  I happened to bump into another "netbook buyer"  who told me that he just got not one but two refurb HP MiniNotes and said that both units had wireless issues.   Soooooooo,   I went w/ the Acer MiniNote 10.1 and the reason why was the HD size and the screen size,  and it was the only one in stock.  MSI and HP were both out of stock.

Acer is a legit company and although I can't stand being back on Windows XP,  it does the job.
