Yes… a lame “catchy” title I know. But I ask the question in all seriousness, I am listening to the audio version of “Googled: The End of the World as We Know it” by Ken Auletta. It covers the evolution of Google from it’s meager beginnings @ Standford to the 800 pound gorilla it is today. Sergey Brin and Larry Page are smart dudes. As I listen to this book, I can’t help but wonder if when they we’re slamming pepsi’s at 3am while “borrowing” computers from Stanford if they think they would one day be at the helm of a company that rivals Microsoft. As you may know…. Google is going to release it’s first operating system next week called Chrome (which is the name of their current browser). If this OS is stable and does more than Windows 7 we may quite possibly see the gap between Google and MSFT get tighter. Always a fan of the underdog, I am excited to see what is about to unfold. One thing is for sure, we’re living in an amazing time!
